My name is Christopher Earl and I am, among other things, a filmmaker and editor, a writer, a musician, and a photographer. I grew up in Seattle and Michigan, went to school in Chicago and Massachusetts, and worked in New York City and, for the past 17 years, Los Angeles.

I don't look like this anymore.

The Hypercube Collective is a forum for me to explore and share my interests, professional and otherwise.
Dancing About Architecture is an expansive musical autobiography, chronicling my life through the music I listen to. The entries are split between information and gossip about the musicians and personal reminiscences, eventually adding up to tell the tale of me. In the immortal words of Tom Lehrer, it is “full of words and music and signifies nothing”. But it’s a good read (better than it sounds), and the podcasts are particularly entertaining. Or so I’ve been told.
Hey Baby! is a blog which chronicals the real-time adventures of a couple traveling into parenthood. Share with us the joys and heartaches, the trials and tribulations of turning from a Mr. and a Mrs. into a Mom and a Dad. In an attempt to be as inclusive as possible, we are using a “he said, she said” format, so you can hear from both of us about the issues we’re facing together and the concerns each of us have. We hope that you enjoy the journey and, for those traveling a similar road, that you find comfort, humor, and solace in these pages.
Our Community School (OCS) is a charter school in the San Fernando Valley, in which the stakeholders, students, parents, teachers and administrators work together to create an inviting and engaging learning community. Students become effective problem solvers, critical thinkers and self-motivated learners. All students are proficient in language arts, mathematics, science, history and the humanities, as well as the visual and performing arts because OCS nurtures the whole child, addressing the intellectual, social, emotional, creative, physical and collaborative aspects of your child's education. It is run by my brilliant and beautiful wife, Chris Ferris.
Blind Pig is my photography page (title taken from the old French (I believe) proverb which states that even a blind pig finds an occasional truffle (or acorn, depending on your source)). I originally nurtured a love of photography in high school – in those dark analogue days - and the advent of digital photography and the ability to take lots of pictures and see the results immediately has rekindled that love. Take enough pictures and some are bound to be good. That’s the theory anyway.
AniFan is my tribute page to short animated films. I am a huge fan of short animation and have kept a notebook on some of my favorite collections for the past couple of years and have decided to post the entries on-line for the benefit of my friends who are also interested in this remarkable art form. These films are labors of love – unique, quirky, personal, sometimes hilariously funny, other times hopelessly tragic, often taking years of thankless toil by the people that create them. I have been collecting these elusive pieces for several years and hope to help pass the word about what treasures await the intrepid animation explorer.
More pages are on the way, so come back often to see how everything is progressing.

After all, it’s my world, you’re just surfing through it.
